A pub that refused to die
Take the true story of twenty-six residents of a small Irish village, Kilteely, who decide to take over the local pub to keep their community alive. Add Heineken’s vision, the creativity of LePub Milan and Publicis Dublin, Gar O’Rourke’s direction, and Antidote Films’ production. The result is not just a commercial, but an authentic documentary short film, selected and screened at various international festivals, starting with the Dublin International Film Festival.
For us at Disc To Disc Productions, this was one of the most rewarding and engaging projects of the year. We approached the work with the exact same care and methodology dedicated to a feature film for the big screen. Being a documentary, cleaning up the location dialogue was essential to preserve the authenticity and nuances of the original voices. On this foundation, we developed the sound design, reconstructing the sound effects and the acoustic atmosphere of the pub and the village, before blending everything into a multichannel mix engineered to deliver the right narrative depth in cinema theatres.
Our sincere thanks go to the entire team involved for trusting us with the audio post-production of such a human and meaningful story.
