It was 1843 when English chemist Henry Roberts arrived in Florence to open his pharmaceutical laboratory H. Roberts & Co at 17 Via Tornabuoni. At that time, Florence was considered the cultural capital of Italy and a hub of excellence for pharmaceutical knowledge. And this is where the story, loosely based on true events, begins: the meeting between young Henry and an elderly cabinetmaker.
